Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account or internet connection?

No. Sock Studio works entirely on your device. There's no sign-up, and no connection is needed to create patterns.

Where is my data stored?

All measurements, profiles, patterns, and projects are stored locally on your device only. Nothing is uploaded. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I create a pattern?

Start a new project and follow the wizard: enter the foot measurements (or estimate them from a shoe size), add your yarn and gauge, choose your heel and toe design, and adjust stretch and fit. Sock Studio calculates the stitch and row counts and generates step-by-step instructions.

What measurements do I need?

The app guides you through the required foot measurements. If the person isn't nearby, you can estimate the measurements from their shoe size.

Which heel and toe types are supported?

Heels: Square (Dutch) and Round (French). Toes: Round-8 and Star-4.

Can I change units and needle sizes?

Yes. In Settings you can switch between centimetres and inches, and choose metric, US, or UK needle sizes. You can also change the language and switch between light and dark appearance.

How do I export or share a pattern?

Any pattern or project can be exported as a PDF and shared using your device's standard share options.

Which languages are available?

English, German, Romanian, Spanish, and French.
